Ever since the genius mid-month anthropic rug pull and new limits there appeared a new "Upgrade" entry in VSCode model selector, that's impossible to remove. I am not here to discuss the merits of new availability/pricing of github copilot. It is what it is. However, sticking an "Upgrade" button in model selector and making it impossible to hide Opus 4.7 from my model list is not cool. I don't want to use Opus 4.7, nor do I want to upgrade just to use Opus 4.7, thank you. Why is it possible for me to hide any other model in VSCode, except this? This is now the 3rd time I am bringing up the same issue. This is a small issue, you are going to piss off a bunch of people for nothing. I seriously doubt there'll be a line up of people upgrading to Pro+ just to use Opus 4.7 and even if there was, give users an option to hide this via model settings, like any other model. People will upgrade if they want more credits to run more inference, not to access 1 specific model. I've got a screenshot of your PM suggesting they will remove it, a new version came and it's still there. Get rid of it.

Don't make me burn my inference credits to decompile and hot-patch github copilot extension in VScode and re-appy that patch every time you update the extension, just make it possible to hide this "upgrade" link. Your marketing department folks will be happy cause maybe most people will not go to hide it. Users like me will be happy if I can go and hide the damn thing, cause I don't want to be upsold in every UI surface. I don't need Copilot Pro+ or Opus 4.7, I've got other providers I can use. However I do want to use Copilot Pro for unlimited auto-complete and the reasonable feature set it currently provides. It's a win-win.

You are making it harder and harder justifying keeping copilot subscription. Now there's these non stop popups too. Is the plan to just constantly show that stuff when somebody is over 50%? That wasn't the case before. Showing it at 95% is OK but every time I open VScode? That's just crazy. I don't even mind the new pricing but it is becoming impossible to use your product. Just constant upgrade notifications, can I have a moment to get some work done without distractions?

Way to listen to your users. Not only was a fairly simple request ignored but some PM who probably doesn't even use VSCode decided 1 Upgrade distraction wasn't enough, now it's in your face every second. I'll see how June shapes up but by the look of it Zed + OpenCode it is.
