- in `dev`, wait for validation to run before asserting on a redbox being open (encapsulated in `getInstantInsight`), which should reduce flakiness in webpack - in `start`, check if the build actually succeeded before running tests. these builds seem to occasionally fail, but the cause is currently unknown
