Describe the bug
Currently, failing unit tests are not causing CI to show failures! Also, recently some unit tests have started failing with warnings/errors about sqlalchemy.

Expected behavior
- Any failing unit test should trigger a CI failure
- All unit tests should pass
- Unit test coverage below 100% should trigger a failure
