Looks to me like these instructions are highly outdated. For example, they tell us to install Python 2.7 which reached end-of-life back in 2020.

I suggest to re-open this issue. The repo https://github.com/Microsoft/nodejs-guidelines itself was archived on Jul 15, 2025 so there won't be any updates made to the contents of

Probably the sentence needs to be deleted from README > On Windows
