"Quick Search" cannot be used in Simplified Chinese.

python version : 3.13 , 3.14, 3.15 ,have the same issue.

The console shows:

What exactly is the problem? When does it not "work", are the results wrong, does the button not work?

1. Type something into the search box
2. Press enter or click the search button
3. It shows "Searching..."

Expected result:

Search results are shown

Actual result:

Still shows "Searching...", no results. The above error is in the console.

And this is a problem with Sphinx 9.0.4, it's working with Sphinx 8.2.3:
